Management accountant

About
As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for the cost control and reporting within the monthly reporting timetable and contribute to the preparation of month end accounts. Whilst working within internal reporting deadlines, you will support and influence decision-making across the STIHL GB organisation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control / reporting and analysis of all cost centre spending.
- Review and control of marketing spend, plan and budget.
- Cost centre reviews with departmental managers. Overall summary review with senior management team. Development of companywide spend dashboard / report.
- Preparation of annual cost centre budgets, by account and month.
- Monthly accounting and reporting for all prepayments in line with reporting timetable.
- Assistance with year-end procedures, as required and in accordance with year-end timetable.
- Ad-hoc accounting duties, including departmental cover during holidays and absences as required.
- Maintenance of company expenses systems and policies. Including responsibility for Rydoo online system and relationship with credit card providers. And dealing with all credit card queries.
- Completion of Office for National Statistics returns.
- Comply with STIHL Company regulations, policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the business.
Requirements
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
- Professional Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), either nearly qualified or newly qualified with a degree of post-qualified experience.
- Financial systems skills (e.g. SAP accounts package)
- Knowledge of management accounts preparation
- Relevant tax (VAT) knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working in a small team within a corporate structure, whilst managing key stakeholder relationships and delivering to deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to use your own initiative
- Strong communication skills and experience of communicating financial data to non-financial managers
- Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working with key senior stakeholders
